Jason Phelps presents Mythos. Jason employs his process of collecting natural materials from the Pacific Northwest to create wall relief sculpture. Paint is combined with shells, dirt, seeds, salt, and insects to construct works inspired by mythology from around the world. Essential to Jason’s work is the study of themes that run common throughout global myth. Whether snorkeling for shells in the rivers of Southern Oregon or collecting sand at the mouth of the Columbia River, Jason’s work is always unified through the rich use of myth and metaphor. Come to the First Friday opening May 6th. Learn more about Jason and his work at www.jasonwadephelpsart.com and www.jasonwadephelpsblog.com.
